Day 36 - Black swans

The snow has gone and it’s a bright, mild morning so I walk down into town to do some shopping. On the way I watch two Black swans rummage for nest material in the small Kurpark pond. Surprisingly most of the ducks on the banks are still asleep, their heads tucked under their wings with one wary eye peeping out. There is a variety of bird-life here; Shellduck, Herons, Mallard, Mandarin ducks, Barnacle geese and a few that I was unable to identify. The green shoots of Crocuses and Snowdrops are sprouting across the lawns but it’s still too early for flowering.
