Day 56 - Starnight Cafe

On Sommerberg the Starnight Café finally gets its website. The Café-Restaurant located at 725m altitude in the funicular station was originally themed on 'Vincent van Goghs café in Arles'. The aim was to create a cultural centre for art and music where artists could exhibit their work free of charge and musicians could play to select audiences. This is still very much a priority although the original concept required some adjustments. The main room, (eventually to be a restaurant) has a fantastic panoramic view over the Enz valley making it an ideal place to relax. For fresh air addicts the famous forest offers well marked routes for walking, biking and in winter cross country skiing. Maps, postcards, drinks and ice cream are available at the Starnight Café kiosk in the funicular foyer. For more information on a wonderful day out check the new website:
