Day 158 - Sommer

Wild strawberries mixed in with the flora

Small Tortoiseshell suns itself on the ground

Today is a public holiday in southern Germany (Fronleichnam) and the fine weather has brought the wanderers up to the Sommerberg plateaux. I join them for a short stroll. I hear the first crickets and find wild strawberries in the flora edging the pathways. It’s drier than yesterday, which maybe accounts for the odd butterfly and the reappearance of the ants. Large cumulus clouds float past in a clear blue sky and after the rain the vegetation is a lush vivid green.
