Day 269 - Feathers
It’s colder today despite intermittent sunshine so I have to switch on the heating. In the afternoon I walk down the zigzag path and come across a pile of feathers on top of a tree stump. It looks like the aftermath of a feast on a green tablecloth of moss but there is no sign of the bird. Its difficult to say what the species was, but going by the quantity and size of some feathers it may have been a pigeon. I wonder what animal would have selected the flat surface of a tree stump to prepare dinner.
