Day 279 - Autumn colours

Grasshopper

Autumn colours

It’s a mild autumn day and warm enough to have the crickets chirping, if rubbing your wings on your back legs or whatever it is they do can be called chirping. Against a backdrop of dying bracken I photograph a grasshopper clinging to the dried out stem of a fern. Unperturbed by the camera the grasshopper continued to rub its wings together (chirping), possibly to keep warm as the sun slowly sank towards the horizon.
