Day 294 - Forest sculpture

The temperature plummets and several days ago the first snow arrived. Not a lot and hardly worth photographing but snow nevertheless. Considering the first snow last winter first arrived in January it bodes well for the skiing season. The fungi season must surely be over by now and it was very disappointing though I did find one perfect Steinpilz in contrast to the mangy one found last year. A hurricane a few years ago probably produced the tortured tree stump (pictured) which makes for an interesting 'natural' forest sculpture.
